ELM STREET HATBORO

ELM STREET HATBORO

ELM STREET REVITALIZATION PROJECT - was adopted by Hatboro Council in April 2006. We are very closely connected with Main Street Hatboro, and the Hatboro Boro Council, and all of the local charitable organizations.

ELM STREET relies upon State, Federal, and Local grants, and fund raisers to improve the mixed use and residential areas that are connected to the down town business areas (Main Street Hatboro)

The ELM STREET area is the Jacksonville Road Corridor bounded by County Line Road, Jefferson Ave and Windsor Ave and includes Montgomery Ave., Moreland Ave.,Byberry Road and all other streets within this boundary.

REVITALIZE means to:

  • Rejuvenate the business area
  • Improve the residential area
  • Upgrade the parks and open areas
  • Plan for future expansion

 By means of:

  • Streetscaping... more trees and landscaping where possible
  • Future addition of sidewalks and street lighting
  • Installing New Equipment in Parks and open space... Tanner Park
  • Upgrading streets and intersections. A grant has been received for the purpose of improving many of the intersections in the corridor with approved PENN DOT materials. The work has started at the Intersection of Penn and Moreland Avenue and will help make the school crosswalks safer for the kids.
  • Working with Zoning and Developers to control types of construction.

TANNER PARK is a current project on our list to upgrade the playground equipment. We are currently working with Hatboro-Horsham Kiwanis Club, and the Village Players of Hatboro to improve the entire park. The basketball court has been reworked and new nets are installed. Further improvements are in the planning stages.
You can order a TANNER BRICK to Remember Your Loved Ones or A Special Date or Time while supporting a worthy cause.

INK CARTRIDGES and CELL PHONES - Our first fund raising activity continues. This is the Environmental Collection of used cell phones and ink jet cartridges. By collecting them we keep them out of the landfills and turn them into a fund raising activity. BLUE DROP containers are located at all the local banks, Boro Hall, the Boro Police Dept. Hatboro Library, Village Hardware, Impact Thrift, and the YMCA. Please ask your family and friends to save them and drop them off.
